Free LDS come follow me youth lesson ideas and helps, Nov 4-10

Jesus Christ is a God of miracles.

Moroni concluded his father’s writings with a powerful message for people in our day who do not believe in miracles (see Mormon 8:26; 9:1, 10–11). Why do you feel a belief in miracles is needed today? Search Mormon 9:9–11, 15–27 and Moroni 7:27–29 and ponder questions such as:

  • What do I learn about the Savior from these verses?

  • What do I learn about miracles, past and present?

  • What are the benefits of believing that Jesus Christ is a God of miracles? What are the consequences of not believing this?

  • What miracles—large and small—has the Savior worked in my life? What do these miracles teach me about Him?

President Russell M. Nelson taught: “Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory” (“Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2018, 96). What do you feel some of these miracles might be? What can you do to help the Savior fulfill them?

I want to start out with this quote from Pres. Nelson. In the very beginning we can show the youth how these teachings apply to their lives today. They will be more invested if it involves them. And I think this quote does a good job of doing that.

What do you feel some of these miracles might be? What can you do to help the Savior fulfill them?

When appropriate you can start passing out all the pieces, there are 6 sheets of puzzle pieces, they are in my store.

I don't know what you will talk about, but here is idea to record what the youth interpret from the scriptures. I think it helps the youth know we are listening when we record what they say on the board.

Let the youth decide what scripture is next, by the shape of their pieces and what attaches to the next one. Tell them to look up their scriptures and have them ready to read, when you pass out the pieces. After they read their scripture they can place the puzzle piece on the board. These are in my store. I also have scripture cards and a printable lesson plan.

You can even change the puzzle pieces to a different scripture references that means more to you by putting a sticker label over the top.

These was an interest in a Black and White version. It does take extra work so if there isn't enough interest, I probably won't do it again.

This gift tag is NOT included in the lesson bundle this week. I'm so sorry, Etsy only has 5 files and I have taken every single one this week.

But you are welcome to purchase it separately.

Lastly some Christmas gift ideas:

This is the final board, I have some quote cards, but you can easily switch those out for quotes that resonate with you and your class. Hopefully, you get the idea. My concern is that my youth would want to move fast through the pieces so they can get to the ending. Make sure you reign them in, ask questions and get them talking. I stoped recording, after the rainbow, but you can still do that with each response.

I added this message for the ending, but if you want to bear your personal witness that's even better:

What do you learn about faith and miracles from the experiences of Saints in Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and Tahiti when President and Sister Nelson visited them? (see Russell M. Nelson, “Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains,” Liahona, May 2021, 101–4).

See also Ronald A. Rasband, “Behold! I Am a God of Miracles,” Liahona, May 2021, 109–12; Gospel Topics, “Miracles,” Gospel Library.

I've added this song because, I'm sure everyone has this going through their head as you plan this lesson(:

Here is one more article from the church I found very helpful. Just click on the picture to take you to the page.
