Repentance brings me joy in Jesus Christ.
To help your children understand that repentance brings joy, you could give them a piece of paper with a happy face on one side and a sad face on the other. Ask them to listen while you read or summarize Alma 36:13, 17–20 and hold up one of the faces to show how Alma was feeling. Older children could write down words or phrases describing how he felt. What made Alma sad, and what brought him joy? Then you could tell them about the joy you feel when you repent.
Younger students-
For more movement: put the sad face Alma on a wall on one side of the room and the happy face Alma on the wall on the opposite side of the room. Tell the children that you are going to read some scriptures, and if they think Alma is feeling happy stand under the happy side, if they think he is feeling sad, stand under the sad side. For very young children simplify these verses.
Or you can do as the the primary manual suggest, each student would be holding something like this:
I left them B&W so the children can color them.
For older students:
Write down and discuss together as a class, bring colored pencils so they can color the Alma's after.
I like red noses, but any color will work.
This is great for Fast Sunday(:
OR you can send home this game, in an envelope for each of them.
“By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.”
Your children might enjoy finding small items that make big things happen. Items like a battery, car key, or even a toy that comforts them might be examples. I love it! Children love finding things around the room, I would hide things like this:
Repetition is a great way to learn. If you would like an extra activity this printable is in my store.

You could then read Alma 37:6–7 together and think of some small or simple things that God wants us to do. What big things can happen when we obey these small or simple commandments?

Your children could also try something like this: start filling a cup with water, one drop at a time. How does this relate to Alma 37:6–7? Then you could talk about how the Lord’s “small and simple things,” such as reading the scriptures daily, are like drops of water in a cup.
Here is a scripture reading chart you can print off.
Help your children think of ways that they bring about great things at home, school, or church. The song “‘Give,’ Said the Little Stream” (Children’s Songbook, 236) also illustrates this principle.
The scriptures can help me every day.
How might you help your children develop love for God’s word, as Alma did for Helaman? Consider showing them a picture of the Liahona (such as Gospel Art Book, no. 68) or inviting them to draw one while they share what they know about it (see Alma 37:38–47; 1 Nephi 16:10, 28–29). How are the scriptures like the Liahona?

The Scriptures can help us every day.

Mitzi at Comefollowmekid.com grabbed this from the Family Fun section. It says:
Family Study Fun:
1.”...ask someone to to hold this pretend Liahona. Pick a small object to use as treasure.
2. Have someone leave the room while the rest hide the treasure. Then ask the person to come back in the room and try to find it.
3. If the person shares one way they can keep the commandments this week, the person with the Liahona can point them toward the treasure.
4.Each person takes a turn searching and holding the Liahona.
Isn't that cute?!
Here is a printable that can be that pretend Liahona. Remember it can be printed as a coloring page so your kids can add their own creative touch to their Liahona.
Here is a song about reading scriptures, search ponder and pray.
