2020 Youth Personal Dev. Program. Spiritual, Social, Physical, and Intellectual, Free Weekly chart.

Updated: Jan 23, 2020

I was a little overwhelmed, with the new Youth program, mostly because now it involves my 8 year old and 11 year old. Trying to help them stay focused on a goal, let alone 4 goals is pretty difficult. So with anything that seems hard, it is always easier when you break it down. What do they say...eat an elephant one bit at a time?

When we had our very first combined meeting my daughter made the goal to be a better reader. She decided on her own that she would read twice as many minutes then the assigned reading from her school. Wow! It made such a wonderful difference in her academics. But, then December hit, and we didn't do too hot. Also, for Physical dev. she wanted to start playing tennis. So we got her into tennis lessons that meet once a week in an indoor court. But, she isn't doing much the rest of the week. I would really like her to be physically minded daily, even if it is just trying a new, heathy food.

First I highly recommend going by the book. It recommends praying about your goals and it has a very special opening about how Precious they are as children of God.

I plan on doing this one on one with all my children, but I first started with my daughter in the quiet of the morning. It was really neat. She said a very special prayer and then we got started.

I really love that the book encourages us to focus on the things our child is good at. I think this helped her not feel so much like we are just all about "fixing" her.

Near the back of the book, there are suggestions on goal ideas. As I read, my daughter told me which ones she liked and I circled them. My daughter is really a sweet little girl, but sometimes she gets upset with her little sister...and then she feels so bad after. So she liked the goal of learning to say nice things, even when you feeling frustrated.

So this is what we came up with for this week. She already completed her social and Physical for the day.

I didn't realize until later that I should have coordinated the colors with the ones in the book. Sorry about that, but to be honest, this will probably be our only colored one. The fallowing weeks will be just Black and White.

It is a big job to complete a week of this so, for the first couple of weeks I'm letting them pick out of our family treasure box. But if your parenting style doesn't believe in bribing, please don't send me hate mail(:

Here are the printable's:

Hope you have a great day!
